Along with the live online coverage, users can view bonuses, such as minute-by-minute commentary written by BBC journalists, World Cup on-demand highlights packages and an hourly desktop sports alerts. BBC Sports - which also plans to stream this year's Wimbledon Championships on its site - said the online service is its latest effort to capture daytime mindshare.
