BBC Brings Clipped Programming to MySpace

Devil's pact

The BBC has signed an agreement with News Corp.'s MySpace, reports The New York Times.

The deal brings content from the BBC's vaults to MySpace users, mostly as short-form clips. The clips shall appear on dedicated MySpaceTV channels but may also be embedded onto profiles.

Revenue from ads sold in or around the programming will be split between the BBC and MySpace.

The BBC has enjoyed some success syndicating short-form content online via YouTube, which also gives it a cut of the ad revenue.
