Banner Ads Proliferate on European Sites

NetImperative reports that more and more banner ads are appearing on European sites, according to a Nielsen/Netratings report employing its AdRelevance(i) creative monitoring technology. The figures rose 24 percent from 76375 in November of 2003 to 94,939 in November 2004. Biggest growth was seen in Sweden, France and the Netherlands, although the big three of Germany, France and the U.K. still dominate the pack for the largest number of banners appearing. Europe added 11 percent more advertisers and saw that larger pool produce 10 percent more campaigns.
