Avenue A/Razorfish continues to expand abroad, acquiring a German digital shop.

aQuantive's Avenue A/Razorfish has acquired German digital marketing agency Neue Digitale for $5.6 million, plus performance-based payments over three years, reports ClickZ. Neue Digitale has 44 employees and is headquartered in Frankfurt. It has a reputation as a creative and effective online branding specialist, and has done work for the likes of Adidas, Daimler-Chrysler, Olympus Europe and Coca-Cola.

Avenue A/Razorfish recently bought Australian agency Amnesia, and DNA in the U.K. Like those two, Neue Digitale will operate as a subsidiary, retaining its brand identity and leadership team. It offers strategic planning, creative conception, technical implementation and media services for integrating mobile channels.

"Our determination to provide exceptional service in promising international markets led us to Neue Digitale in Germany," Clark Kokich, worldwide president of Avenue A/Razorfish, said in a statement. "Neue Digitale is distinguished as a leader for creative innovation and delivering digital marketing results. We are excited to welcome the team to our expanding family."

aQuantive CEO Brian McAndrews earlier this week pointed to the significant contribution of international business to its income figures, particularly for Avenue A/Razorfish: "We do see a real opportunity in growing geographically for the…business."
