Press Release: Avenue A Acquires Interactive Agency i-Frontier
Congratulations to my industry buddy Brad Aronson, founder and CEO of the Philadelphia-based cyber ad agency i-Frontier, which announced today its acquisition by larger, Seattle-based cyber ad agency Avenue A (NASDAQ: AVEA). Even though terms of the acquisition were not announced, I'm assuming this is the type of acquisition for which congratulations are in order, as i-Frontier is one of those remarkable types of Internet companies that stayed private and "consistently profitable," according to the press release, "expected to exceed $7 million in revenues for 2002."
Brad and I know each other from the speaking circuit, and he's a great guy, as well as being no-nonsense smart about the industry. He founded the company in 1996, growing it to 58 employees and dominating the pharmaceutical industry's ad coverge online. According to the press release, Brad will continue to run the Philadelphia agency under the same name.
UPDATE:
Oops. This is why real journalists check their facts. For those of who read this posting earlier, turns out I remembered an anecdote wrong — he was rushing back for an anniversary, not a birth. For the record, Brad's not yet a dad, and now I've apparently help build the wife's case. I regret the error.
