A majority of young Australian drivers report that they not only use their mobile phones while driving, but that they look down to read incoming text messages. They also, ironically, report that using phones while driving is a major road safety issue. States in Australia have outlawed cell phone use in cars, unless the vehicle is parked and turned off, unless a hands-free device is used.
