ZDNet Australia: au domains increase with competition
A brisk domain market in Australia seems to have pushed many domain buyers out of the prime .com addresses and more into other types of domains. The number of auDA-accredited registrars has jumped from nine to nineteen, and the number of Australian domain names has increased 24 percent.
In a trend not yet readily apparent in the U.S., .com registrations are declining, yet net.au subdomains experienced 58 percent growth. Org.au grew by 44 percent and asn.au by 13 percent.
