AT&T Mulls Merits of Internet Filtering

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, CEO Randall Stephenson said AT&T is examining how to monitor peer-to-peer networks for illegal filesharing and downloading. He likened doing nothing to watching someone steal a DVD from a store.

Recently, AT&T rival Comcast earned negative press when users revealed it had been quietly "throttling" access to P2P websites, regardless of users' actual activity.
