Mobile TV on the LG Vu
AT&T has announced it will launch its mobile TV initiative this Sunday.
After a handful of delays, last March the company conservatively arranged a May debut.
The service is available on LG Vu and the Samsung Access, across 58 markets including New York, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Chicago.
Powered by Qualcomm's MediaFLO, the AT&T Mobile TV lineup includes CBS Mobile, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, NBC 2Go, Comedy Central, and MTV.
Exclusive channels include PIX, a film network by Sony Pictures Television; and CNN Mobile Live. In addition to breaking news, CNN Mobile Live provides programs like Larry King Live and Anderson Cooper 360.
For the first 60 days, AT&T shall also include CNCRT, a concert channel featuring acts by Jay-Z, Fallout Boy and Sheryl Crow.
Limited access — which includes CBS Mobile, Fox Mobile, NBC 2Go and NBC News 2Go — costs $13 a month. Basic unlimited mobile TV costs $15, and the inclusion of web browsing and access to on-demand mobile video costs $30.
Customers will not be charged data fees on top of monthly subscription rates, reports MediaPost.
