ATA to Take Do-Not-Call Registry to Supreme Court

Stuck with a law that actually works, the American Teleservices Association will try to overturn a federal appeals court ruling that upheld the legality of the Do-Not-Call Registry.

"If we win, it will not be popular," ATA executive director Tim Searcy told DM News. "We have to figure out a way with Congress to provide an appropriate amount of relief and control."

But that might be getting a little ahead of himself. First, the telemarketing trade group must win cert, getting the Supreme Court to agree to hear the case. Fewer than one in a thousand submitted cases gets heard.
