Fueling the third-screen fire
LinkedIn, a social network for professionals, has launched a mobile service.
The LinkedIn site hosts 19 million users globally, typically professionals that own smartphones, reports The Guardian.
m.linkedin.com allows users to search for contacts and CVs, invite contacts to their networks, and receive updates about existing connections.
The site was bug-tested for six weeks and is now available in English, German, French, German, Chinese, and Japanese.
The climbing popularity of mobile sites was boosted by flat data rates from mobile providers in Europe, Asia, and most recently the US.
Facebook, MySpace, and Bebo also have mobile destinations.
