LA-based nvohk is an online retailer that positions itself as the first eco-friendly, community-managed clothing firm, reports MediaBuyerPlanner.

Members are recruited en masse and encouraged to contribute $50 apiece to help co-develop the brand. Responsibilities will include designing the logo, products and website.

Participants will also help with advertising. 35 percent of nvohk profits generated will be distributed to users in the form of points, redeemable for discounted products.

nvohk donates 10 percent of net profits to environmental organizations, which are also selected by members.

According to Springwise, 400 people registered for nvohk in January. The firm is awaiting the addition of 5000 members before soliciting $50 development contributions, which kicks off the process.
