Online listings of for-sale real estate now have a standard format that can be broadly adopted, reports ClickZ. The standardized listings were created by Zillow, Yahoo Real Estate and Trulia as a way to make the user experience better so that users know what they can expect.
The listings will include a standard set of features such as number of bedrooms but will also be customized by location, with features like water views and such being available where applicable.
Zillow led the move for the adoption of information standards when it started pulling more feeds from more sources and recognized the need for more uniform presentation.
It and other interested parties realized it's in everyone's best interest to adopt a consistent approach, especially with so many partnerships being formed.
Yahoo Real Estate has partnerships with a number of realtors and pulls its valuations from Zillow's database.
