New and improved
YouTube is rolling out its Partners revenue-sharing program to all US and Canadian users, reports Variety.
The program is growing beyond the 1,000 or so initially allowed to take part back in May. Now all content creators — those who own the copyright to the videos they post — in the US and Canada are eligible to participate.
The expansion has the dual goal of encouraging more creators to use YouTube, and of opening more video inventory to advertisers.
Ad revenue from spots placed within partner videos is split between both parties.
