ESPN goes global
ESPN is expanding its global reach with the 2008 launch of ScoreCenter.com, which will provide scores for 23 sports in 180 countries, according to Reuters.
ESPN has quietly made key acquisitions in varied sports sites in recent years, including European network NASN, sites for rugby and cricket, and various mobile businesses.
Available in six languages, ScoreCenter will provide live scores for 460 soccer leagues. ESPN CEO George Bodenheimer calls the site "ESPN's most international product."
