With Contract Up, NBC Pulls Shows from iTunes

The Office has left iTunes

With its contract with Apple finally up, NBC has pulled its shows from iTunes, reports Silicon Alley Insider.

NBCU CEO Jeff Zucker notably complained about the paltry profit margin coming from the e-store, the company's inability to control pricing for episodes, and the idea that users can download content and spread it to other devices.

In lieu of iTunes, NBC will serve shows on its Hulu video site, in addition to hawking shows on Amazon's for-profit downloading service, Unbox.
