CondeNet Gets into YouTube Ad Mix

Sitting pretty between
Nalts and Smosh?

CondeNet will begin selling video ads on a number of newly-launched branded YouTube channels, reports ClickZ.

The channels will be branded as extensions of CondeNet's online offerings. An Epicurious channel is first to the gate, with Style, Concierge and other channels not too far in the offing.

CondeNet will sell advertising within those videos but has not said who among its existing advertising partners has signed on so far, saying only that they were still explaining the new opportunity to advertisers. The strategy extends the reach of an ad buy to video audiences.

The publisher will use YouTube's recently created overlay ads as its format of choice. Any inventory that CondeNet cannot sell will be turned over to Google to fill with ads.
