Deutsche Grammophon Opens DRM-Free Classical Music Store

A little Four Seasons
for the soul

Deutsche Grammophon, a German classical music company founded in 1898, is launching an online store called DG Web Shop.

The shop will sell songs in mp3 format.

Deutsche is owned by Universal. The songs will be sold DRM-free, since copyright laws on classical music are more relaxed, according to TechCrunch.

The store will offer 24,000 albums and box sets. Six hundred of the albums are no longer available as CDs.
