Bebo Partners with Media Firms for Free User Content

Social network Bebo wants to make it easy for users to get free access to professional content, reports Variety.

The company is encouraging media companies to put content on the site, giving them control over how it's presented. The media companies are also able to sell ads against that content and keep the revenue.

Bebo hopes connecting media companies to its 13-24 demographic will result in increased usage and subsequently increased ad revenue. It will continue to sell ads and sponsorships on profile pages.

Social networking site Bebo is US-owned but has a primarily UK-based demographic, where it says its 40 million users are comparable to numbers from MySpace or Facebook. It has launched several online web dramas. In September, Yahoo began serving ads on the network.
