Big Print Pubs Unite For Online Ad Coalition

'Extra, extra! The fight
ain't over 'til it's over!'

Gannett Co., Tribune Co., Hearst Corp., Media News Group and Cox Newspapers are reportedly building an online ad network to help recoup ad revenue lost on their print products, reports MediaBuyerPlanner.

Sources close to the situation say the five may form a common ad sales force that offers national advertisers a single point of contact for purchasing ad space on big-market websites across the country, writes The Chicago Tribune.

The group would compete with a similar network set up last year by Yahoo.
