E*Trade Account Moves from BBDO to Grey

Buy low, sell high

E*Trade Financial is moving creative duties for its $180 million account from BBDO to Grey Worldwide.

Interactive duties will remain with Agency.com.

The parties attributed the split to BBDO's acquisition of the Bank of America account. A conflict arose because an E*Trade subsidiary, E*Trade Bank, also offers online banking, reports AdWeek.

Grey won the E*Trade account after pitching a concept cooked up by some of the creative vets that worked on Mastercard's long-running "Priceless" campaign.

E*Trade spent $180 million on measured media last year and $135 million in the first half of 2007. BBDO has held the E*Trade account since 2004.
