Not a hog hunt... yet

Comcast has worked out a response to accusations that it intentionally slows service to p2p networks like BitTorrent.

Though it declined to discuss the technology, Comcast sends out something comparable to a busy signal to those downloading from file-sharing apps. This significantly slows the download process, but does not stop it altogether.

Furthermore, Comcast only stalls some downloads.

Comcast claims it does so to protect the average internet user, stating that torrent users "represent a minority of Comcast customers, but use a disproportionate amount of bandwidth," according to the New York Times.
