Google dominates here, too
Google is off to a commanding lead over eBay in efforts to sell television ads, reports Adweek.
Google's lead is due in large part to a deal to sell ads on Dish TV's system. The company sold over 100,000 spots to advertisers, including many leading in respective vertical industry segments.
eBay, on the other hand, has only sold a handful of spots to a couple of advertisers. The service was effectively crippled when the main coalition of cable networks pulled out.
The two also differ in how they operate, with eBay running an RFP-driven service and Google a spot-buying one. Those involved also say the level of information Google shares is more attractive to buyers.
