Brickfish, a site that empowers consumers to build ground-floor campaigns for brands, has just unveiled Viral Map.
The visual tool enables users to track "viral" content across popular sites where users might be referring back to it.
To use Viral Map, proprietary content must be uploaded to Brickfish by the owner. Its location can then be posted to other locations throughout the online space, after which Viral Map will build a web that tracks where the content is linked.
Brickfish member Sticky Honey created a Viral Map for her own creation, a Rooney/THS tour poster. The map, with a series of pulsing arms outstretched toward sites pointing back to the poster, appears below her work.
In April, Nielsen built a similar tool for tracking "Brand DNA," which is composed of a brand's mentions across the online space, as well as words or phrases most commonly associated with it.
