Verizon Sued for Inflating FiOS Subscriber Numbers

FiOS comes a-calling

Verizon is being sued for overstating its subscriber numbers of its FiOS TV service.

Marketing-services provider Digital Arts Services says Verizon included pending customers in its subscriber figures for the New York region to inflate its advertising rates, according to Broadcasting & Cable. The DSA also paid those inflated rates, under the impression that pending customers were already subscribers.
Verizon currently has 515,000 FiOS subscribers in 12 states.
