Final Fantasy VII: beloved to
a generation
Japanese consumers have snatched up 326,645 of Sony's new PSP "Slim" in the first 10 days on the market, according to Next-Gen.
The redesigned handheld's success was partly fueled by the new game Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. The PSP trailed Nintendo's DS handheld and Wii console until this month's launch, which enjoyed the benefit of hosting a coveted game and a slimmer design.
Overall Sony moved 25 million PSP units, trailing behind Nintendo's 50 million for the DS.
