In the UK, 'Cyber Bullying' Will Not Be Tolerated

Bullying goes digital

A UK government study recently revealed that a third of students, aged 12 to 15, have encountered some form of cyberbullying. Teachers in the country are now being given guidelines on how to fight it.

According to the BBC News, "Examples [of cyber bullying] include threats, intimidation, harassment or 'cyber-stalking,' unauthorised publication of private information or images, impersonation and so-called 'happy slapping'."

Schools are being given the right to confiscate mobile phones and tips on how to pull down offensive content online. Ministers are also launching a campaign on the social networks students frequent.

In July, schoolteachers in Canada sought to launch a similar effort against cyber bullying.
