About to get a lot faster
Having already partnered in other cities, Samsung announced plans to work with Sprint to bring WiMax, the fourth generation of wireless internet, to New York City.
Samsung will provide infrastructure for Sprint's WiMax service in New York, DC, Baltimore, Boston and other cities, according to AP.
Branded as Xohm, the service will hit DC in April of next year and New York by the end of 2007.
And by late 2008, Sprint hopes to have joined 100 million people to Xohm.
