MTV admits defeat in the online music world as it partners with RealNetworks, reports Reuters.
The cable network will be closing the doors on its Urge store and merging its operations with RealNetworks' Rhapsody service. The co-venture will be dubbed Rhapsody America.
Also announced is Verizon's new status as the exclusive wireless distributor for Rhapsody America.
MTV launched Urge last year as part of a partnership with Microsoft.
