Ireland Issues First Prison Sentence for Music Piracy


Pirates Beware!

The Irish Recorded Music Association has put a man in prison over music piracy, marking the first time the country has laid out such a sentence.

According to Listening Post, Martin McDonagh was sentenced for six months and given a 1,000 Euro fine after pleading guilty to copyright infringement charges.

McDonagh was caught selling 226 illegal CD copies on the market.
