Parks: More Adults Are Gaming than Watching YouTube Clips

Bejeweled: a mobile
and online favorite

While the crowd may say differently, numbers suggest that online gaming is more popular than YouTube, according to a new Parks Associates report conducted during the second quarter of 2007.

The report found 34 percent of adult web users played online games at least once a week, compared to 29 percent who watched short video clips, and 19 percent who hang out at social networks with the same frequency.

However, video watching is enjoying a much higher growth rate than casual gaming. Online video watching was up 123 percent from last year, while online gaming saw a 79 percent increase.
