Fox Interactive Overhauling Station's Sites

Fox Interactive is planning the revamp of more than 160 Fox TV affiliate websites, reports ClickZ.

The move will bring the MyFOX content and ad platform to those sites. Those using the software will have a similar look and feel, including the ability to add community blogs, message boards and more robust multimedia content.

It also gives Fox proper access to about half the ad inventory on the sites. That inventory will likely be offered to national advertisers, with the other half sold locally by the stations. Details on revenue sharing were not released but are said to be similar to others already in place between Fox and affiliates.

The MyFOX platform is already used on the 24 sites for the stations owned and operated by Fox. While the stations are under no obligation to implement it, the Fox Board of Governors strongly suggests they do so. A consistent brand image, they say, can benefit all parties.
