Glam Media, recently dubbed the #1 women's network, has just launched a vertical search function for woman-oriented content.
The Glam publishing network includes more than 350 sites and blogs, all of which will fall under the jurisdiction of the new engine.
Glam Search will trawl content from lifestyle, celebrity and fashion sites with a functionality dubbed "intelligent search," which filters results per user specifications.
A "curated rank" algorithm assigns importance to pages based on relevance, timeliness and editorial analysis of the content itself. Glam's network includes Dwell and Kaboodle, which was purchased by Hearst in an announcement made last week.
Network publishers can add a Glam Search Widget to their channels in much the same way Google enables users to add a Google search function to their sites. The widget includes the intelligent search and curated rank functionalities.
