After 260 episodes run over the past year, web drama "Lonelygirl15" came to a close Friday when Bree was killed off by a religious cult, which pursued her for the life-giving qualities of her rare blood type.

According to the AP, the finale played out in 12 videos posted over a 12-hour period exclusively on MySpaceTV and the show's website.

Played by Jessica Rose, 16-year-old Bree became a web sensation when Lonelygirl15 first started posting video blog entries via YouTube, maintaining popularity even after it was revealed to be a work of fiction.

The show and supporting characters will carry on without Bree. The second season begins next week.

With the web saga under her belt, Rose is moving onto traditional channels. She will appear as a regular on ABC's "Greek," in a TV project called "E-lebrity," and in the upcoming film "Perfect Sport."
