Piczo, Penguin Add Interactive Element to Kid-Lit

Teen networking site Piczo has just partnered with Penguin Group, a major English-language publisher, for a promotion dubbed "My Penguin," designed to spark "active interest" in literature with collaborative efforts on- and offline.

A release from Piczo reports that six classic novels will be published with blank covers under the Penguin brand. Each will have been chosen by popular teen bands like Razorlight.

Piczo, which boasts 28 million registered accounts for teens roughly between 13 and 16 years of age, will encourage users to submit designs for each book. Winners will be selected by band members, and entrants are free to communicate directly with them through a Q&A.

The classic novels include Alice in Wonderland, The Great Gatsby, Animal Farm, Dracula, Steppenwolf and The Lost Estate. The bands will also distribute their latest albums to the winners.

The competition will be live for four weeks and can be accessed at www.PiczoMyPenguin.piczo.com
