TiVo users will now be able to rent movies from Amazon's Unbox service directly through their set-top boxes, reports ZDNet.
The process wholly divorces the necessity of a home computer from the previous "Amazon Unbox on TiVo" partnership arrangement, as well as other movie downloading services. This more streamlined means should, it's hoped, increase usage among TiVo customers and attract new ones.
Movies run for $4 each, with TV episodes available at half that cost. Customers using the rental service must still wait for the movie to download to the set-top box before viewing it, however.
