On Quest for Sponsors, Ocean Racing Opens to Internet


Ride the wave ... in Boss pumps

S360S has just launched a new marketing website geared toward those that would like to sponsor competitive events in ocean racing, according to a release from the company.


Images of the races, and associated brands, are broadcast from boats via satellite and streamed across the Internet for public access.

Sponsors can choose from a number of platforms, and brands are welcome to interact directly with racers. Sponsors and VIP guests are also invited to participate in inshore races.

The sport spans continents and fosters emotional connections for the athletes by audience members as racers face weather, strength and competitive challenges.

Ocean racing is a primarily European sport that evidences budding popularity in the United States. It is dubbed "the ocean version of climbing Mount Everest, and the NASCAR version of flying around turns without rolling over."

Existing sponsors include Hugo Boss, Pindar, Artemis, Ecover, Skandia, and Tommy Hilfiger.
