A woman previously targeted by the RIAA for music piracy has sued the organization, as well as other parties, for malicious prosecution, reports Ars Technica.

Tanya Anderson's suit alleges that the RIAA, its investigative department and record labels engaged in illegal activities such as privacy invasion, libel, slander and other misdeed.

It also says the RIAA harassed Anderson's eight-year-old daughter. A number of these actions, Anderson says, took place after she tried to help the RIAA by pointing to users that might be using the Kazaa account that was at the heart of the agency's investigation.

A win for Anderson in this case could open the doors to other individual or class-action lawsuits against the RIAA. Such cases could, it's speculated, shine light on a slew of worst practices the RIAA uses in its routine investigations of alleged file sharing.
