Business.com May Sport $400M Price Tag

Prettiest girl at the party

The Wall Street Journal reports that Business.com may draw suitors bearing anywhere between $300 and $400 million.

In 1999 two entrepreneurs purchased the domain for $7.5 million, which at that time was a record figure. Today it is expected to attract the roving eyes of names like Dow Jones and New York Times Co.

Business.com makes for an especially savory acquisition because, according to WSJ, it drives readers to spend money with merchants seeking to pay significant sums for its traffic.

The domain hosts a search engine, directory and pay-per-click ad network. It also serves over six million monthly unique visitors.
