iPhone's do-all capabilities
inspire snarky satire
When the iPhone ships June 29, it will be the first mobile device able to stream YouTube over Wi-Fi or EDGE networks, according to a press release.
To achieve higher video quality and longer battery life for mobile devices, YouTube has begun to encode its videos in the advanced H.264 format, and the iPhone will be the first to offer it. Over 10,000 videos will be ready by the phone's release, with the full catalog available in the format by fall.
The iPhone will include a built-in Apple-designed YouTube application. Additionally, YouTube will also be available on Apple TV.
