The original Confetti
A new analytics solution that focuses on optimizing the user experience tracks where visitors click, as well as what brought them there, reports TechCrunch.
Crazy Egg uses a feature called "Confetti" to show site owners where every visitor clicked on the site through a "heatmap" overlay that represents user clicks as a colored dot.
Colors represent categories such as the user's operating system, window size, time before clicking, and what search term brought them to the page. Confetti even shows where people clicked when a link was not present.
Already implemented on 250,000 sites, Crazy Egg is free for up to 5,000 clicks on four pages. Upgrading to a paid account reads more clicks and yields more pages of data, but the technology is perceived as otherwise quite limited.
