An official statement from Amp'd Mobile reports the company has filed for Chapter 11 to take time to restructure its business, which was insufficiently equipped its "rapid growth."

The company called the move a "necessary and responsible action," explaining in the release that its current infrastructure was buckling under customer demand.

"We are confident," the company said, "that we will emerge from this stronger than ever for the following reasons: The strength of Amp'd Mobile's brand and high customer demand for the product." Other reasons were not mentioned.

The company expects to continue business through bankruptcy. A major investor is also assisting Amp'd in obtaining debtor-in-possession financing.
