Munich-based UGC firm GoFresh has launched itsmy.com, a global service that enables users to bring site personalization to mobile phones, according to a press release.
On itsmy.com, cell phone users can create their own mobile homepages, complete with personal subdomains.
Homepages also act as download sites. Members can post "mash-ups" of video, images or other data onto their mobile domains. Friends who visit these pages can then download the posted files directly onto their cell phones.
The mobile homepage service also features community elements typical of Web 2.0-style sites, including comment and voting capabilities. While use of itsmy.com is currently free, this is expected to change in the next few months, when the site transitions to a profit-sharing model.
Sabine Irrgang, COO of Gofresh, explains that future plans for itsmy.com include "the possibility for the user to earn up to 5% of the sales turnover of his personal download site. The sales price will be in the range of $0.99 up to $1.99, pay-per-download. No subscriptions."
