Clear Channel is working on rolling mobile features out to 100 of its local radio stations, reports MediaWeek.
The media giant is sending stations applications that will allow it to make radio more interactive for the listener. The audience will be able to use their mobile device to take part in surveys, receive alerts and view playlists on their text-friendly devices.
The features will be free to the user, with only their own plan's text rates and other charges coming into play. Later in the summer the stations will also allow listeners to download station-branded wallpapers and other digital items.
