ABC News has taken the wraps off a newly redesigned website that allows for community interaction and other Web 2.0-oriented functionalities, reports Lost Remote.
The new ABCNews.com features a cleaner, less cluttered design and a newly enhanced, simpler video player for watching TV segments. The biggest change is a new user function for adding comments and additional facts to stories.
This effort seeks to harness the power of the community by encouraging contributions to the day's news. Users can also input video related to a current story, with the best such video provided an opportunity to appear on television.
Advertising on the site seems limited but better integrated into the site, leading to a smoother reading experience uninterrupted by smaller ads.
