Vonage PR Campaign Against Verizon Gutsy, Desperate

After winning the ability to sign customers during its appeal, Vonage has launched a PR campaign lobbying for public support for its patent infringement appeal against Verizon, according to Epicenter.

The center of the campaign is the website, FreeToCompete.com, where YouTube videos show customers discussing the advantages of Vonage versus Big Telecom and a satirical presentation titled "Can You Patent an Orange?" compares Verizon's demands to attempting to patent nature itself.

Cutting to the chase, a statement on the site reads, "If this case stands, it threatens not only Vonage, but potentially the entire competitive VoIP industry. This is why Vonage is fighting 'The Man' – and you can, too."
