Cable provider Comcast announced Wednesday that it will be buying online movie ticket site Fandango, reports CNET.
Comcast will use Fandango as the launching pad for Fancast.com, a new entertainment venture. The new site will have a variety of entertainment information, including listings of where and on what media a certain show or movie can be viewed.
The acquisition of Fandango is the latest in a recent series of entertainment-site moves by Comcast. It launched video sharing portal Ziddio and horror-movie-focused Fearnet, both within the last year.
Comcast says Fandango will be an important part of Fancast, and CEO Chuck Davis will continue in his role.
