American Airlines is hoping a new, specially targeted online hub will help it attract more business from women, reports MediaPost.
The site, www.aa.com/women, contains advice on traveling with kids, safety issues and other information women would be interested in. The site will also feature a place where women can share their advice and stories, making it an ongoing market research effort by American.
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will be the first cross-promotional partner for the effort, offering discounts for female travelers.
American says if it were to increase the number of women flying on the carrier by just two percent it could mean an extra $94 million in revenue.
The effort was spearheaded by Nora Linville, who was hired last year for just this purpose.
