Digital Facilitators Reap Video Ad Windfall

When big companies make big, ad-supported moves online, odds are good more than a few hands are taking slices of the ad revenue pie, reports AdAge.
Agencies, advisers and consultants are wetting their beaks with online ad revenue by facilitating video ad sales and distribution. They've stepped in to lend a hand to media companies that need one when selling ads or even just putting their videos online.

Akamai and others have launched or will be launching ventures that let media companies and other content creators target their videos online.

In some instances, these third-party vendors take a slice of the ad revenue. Others, such as Akamai, with its newly launched Stream OS tool, charge an upfront bandwidth and distribution fee.
