Meredith's 'Child' Shuts Down Print Version

Yet another magazine is following the footsteps of several that have recently closed down their print operations while maintaining an online presence.

Meredith Corporation's Child magazine will be printed for the last time this spring, but will continue to maintain a web presence, according to the New York Times (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Child's website will become part of a parenting portal that will debut in July. It will also include three other Meredith titles: Parents, American Baby and Family Circle.

Child faced new competition last year from Conde Nast's Cookie and Disney's Wondertime. The publication's circulation fell 18.5 percent last year, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

Child's subscribers can choose to receive Parents magazine instead, or they can opt for a refund.
